An organic matcha from Kagoshima for concentrated Koicha
Matcha Silk Supreme, organic focuses on a calm, rounded profile: soft, mild, creamy, and with a clear umami side. If you want to prepare matcha pure and concentrated, Koicha puts the powder more in the spotlight.
In the cup, the matcha appears approachable without being ordinary. The soft note takes away the hard edge, umami adds depth, and the creamy texture keeps the mouthfeel rounded.
It comes from Kagoshima, an important tea region in southern Japan, and from the first spring harvest (Ichibancha). For this blend, Asatsuyu, Yabukita, and Okumidori are used; the cultivars bring together a soft, green, and calmer line.
The leaves were shaded directly on the plant for 20 to 30 days: Jikase-kaen. The medium steaming level Chumushi strikes a balance between clear structure and more body; it is ground with Ishiusu, the granite stone mill.
